Peter Marshall Jr.

Peter Marshall Jr.

Born in 1940 to a Presbyterian preacher and his wife Catherine, Marshall lost his father in 1949 to a sudden heart attack.  His mother began writing books and editing her husband's sermons and prayers before remarrying an executive editor for Guideposts Magazine.  Marshall graduated from Yale University and Princeton Seminary to follow in his father's footsteps as a Presbyterian pastor.  After ministering for over a decade, Marshall decided to expand his preaching and to place more emphasis on teaching and writing by founding Peter Marshall Ministries.  He became a leading voice throughout the American continent for his ministry on Christian growth and discipleship and his emphasis on "America's Christian Heritage." And with co-author David Manuel, saw three of his books become best-sellers.  These books are The Light and The Glory, From Sea to Shining Sea, and Sounding Forth the Trumpet

Marshall spent his last few years living in Cape Cod and died at age 70 on September 8th, 2010.
