Originally published in 1967, when evangelical Fundamentalism was at its peak, it would be easy to assume Christian Charm Course falls into a similar pattern of legalism and uptight over-emphasis of maintaining a conservative physical appearance. Surprisingly (and thankfully) it does not, Hunter choosing instead to encourage girls to establish and maintain a healthy and attractive appearance that will boost their self-image and help them both personally and professionally. An excellent course for adolescent girls, this teacher's book might turn out to be just as helpful a resource for mothers.
