Molly Whuppie is the youngest daughter of a woodcutter, and one day she and her two sisters lose themselves in the forest. They walk and walk and at last they come to a house– but it belongs to a giant and turns out to be anything but a safe place to rest. Molly, however, is a smart girl, and she not only rescues them all from the giant's clutches, but she makes three return visits to carry off his treasures and so win royal husbands for her sisters and herself.
Retold by the incomparable Walter de la Mare, this much-loved folktale is accompanied by Errol Le Cain's radiant full-color painting, which perfectly capture its wonder and humor.
