This is the 2nd time I have used the Lifepac 5th grade math curriculum. I find it very easy to use from a teacher's stand point. The student pages are simple and explain the information well, especially for students who are more independent in their learning. There is a lot of repetition of the material in the Lifepac student books, so if the child catches on quickly, it may not be necessary to use each page. For those who are a little slower to learn, this is a great choice. The repetition helps enforce the material and gives the student time to understand before moving on to different material. One thing I don't particularly like about these workbooks is that at the beginning of each workbook, there is a review from previous books, which seems remedial and unnecessary, sometimes even reteaching previously learned material. I do like the 10 individual books as it gives the student a sense of progress through the year. The teacher book is really a well-organized answers manual. There are no solutions in the answers manual, which has not been a problem for me in the elementary grades. Higher grades include solutions for each problem. Overall I am very satisfied with the content and set-up of the Lifepac Math books.
