The College Set is essentially two sets in one. The first section—including Logic, Calculus, and Statistics—may feasibly be accomplished in high school by a motivated student. The second section—Linnear Algebra, Five Days of Upper Division Math, Real Analysis, and Complex Analysis—is intended for university level students or adults who love the topic.
For those kids who have grown up with Life of Fred, Calculus is the book that Schmidt has been teasing you with for years: while providing two years of college-level calculus, it also explains Fred's back story! Logic doesn't have a mathematical prerequisite, and while Statistics can follow, it also may be used first.
In the last few years, Schmidt has been releasing more books for university level. While Calculus and Statistics comprise the first part of that instruction, that material can be followed up with Linnear Algebra, Five Days of Upper Division Math, which is meant as a sampler of advanced math, then Real Analysis and Complex Analysis, which apply many of the concepts taught in Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. These books are not meant for the uninitiated, or even to be "finished"—rather they are full of puzzles to solve, to dip into and enjoy.
