Hector Henri Malot

Hector Henri Malot

A Frenchman born on May 20, 1830, in La Bouille, Malot later took an interest in law, studying in Rouen and Paris.  Changing direction in his life, Malot chose to pursue his fascination with literature.  A dramatic critic and a literary critic, Malot also penned numerous children's books, over 70 in total.  His most famous work is perhaps Sans Famille, but Malot continued writing books until the later years of his life.  In 1896 he saw published his autobiography called The Novel of My Novels before passing away on July 17, 1907, in Vincennes.
