To help children understand the normal changes which take place in the body during the adolescent years, in-depth studies of the following systems are included: the endocrine system and how it affects mental and emotional health; the skeletal system and skin and how they affect personal appearance; and the nervous system and how it is affected by drugs, including a look at the worldwide tragedy of drug abuse. A Healthier You helps the students learn to maintain physical fitness and make healthful, responsible decisions, knowing that the choices they make during their teenage years will have long-term effects on their health.
This eight-week study is used with Science: Order and Reality.
