Self-portraits
Eli grew out his beard and tried the mountain man look for a while. It was an interesting conversation starter.
Meanwhile, I trimmed my hair off.
Joshua turned four!
My baby boy is now all legs and arms and long stories that I have trouble understanding.
Reading with uncle Nathaniel.
He has almost outgrown naps.
The Lucy-girl has grown a bunch too!
She's a "wild thing" that makes "my heart sing!"
*Melting heart*
A couple weeks past five months. I could still lay her on the edge of the bed without her rolling off.
She loves to be close to her mommy!
What more can I say about that smile? Click here to see a picture of Joshua at a similar age in the same toy.
Click here and scroll down to see a picture of Lucy in the same outfit on the same chair. She was a bit younger, but I'll bet you can still see the resemblance.
Why don't babies like peas? It's so easy to blend up a can! She did finish the bowl, and even ate peas again, but I didn't torture her too often with this particular baby food mix.
A beautiful, six month old baby girl!
Laughter!
Towel baby!
I heard her call out from the other room and I thought she sounded strangely muffled. Only a few days after she started getting around, this is where I found her!
"Christopher Robin was sitting outside his door, putting on his Big Boots. As soon as Pooh saw the Big Boots, he knew that an Adventure was going to happen, and he brushed the honey off his nose with the back of his paw, and spruced himself up as well as he could, so as to look Ready for Anything." —Winnie-the-Pooh, by A. A. Milne
After taking a walk in the cold winter air, we like to end up at a coffee shop for some warming drinks...
...and some tasty eats!
Little baby Esther wants some!
She'll just have to make do with all the admiring stares and coos from the other people at the cafe.
Or just give mommy big, wet kisses!
We like it when Eli closes the shop on Mondays!
Another favorite walk is to cross the old bridge in Oregon City and take the river paths in West Linn.
The path follows the river...
...and then goes under the freeway.
It always kind of reminds me of a cathedral.
Wild life!
More wildlife!
On a Sunday afternoon we took bubbles with us.
"...Whenever I look up the hill
Where, dark against the green and blue,
The firs come marching, two by two,
I wonder if perhaps I might
See suddenly a shining knight
Winding his way from blue to green—
Exactly as it would have been
Those many, many years ago....
Perhaps I might. You never know."
—Knights and Ladies, by A. A. Milne
