A Glass-Bottomed Boat Tour

April 18, 2007

Feeding Fish
Wednesday morning we packed up our stuff and checked out of the Douglas House. But before leaving Key West, we went on a Glass Bottom Boat tour. But first we fed some fish (that part of the water was full of them!) and finished off the last of Monday night's pizza.
The Boat
On the Boat
Enjoying the trip out to the reef. That's a sail boat in the last picture; not Jaws.
The Glass Bottom
Once we reached the reef, the boat stopped and we all went down into the viewing part. Visibility was good and we saw schools of fish, lots of coral and undersea growth, as well as the barracuda you see in the last picture. He knows the boat and always comes to check out the tourists and get his picture taken!
Fresh Air
Relaxing on the trip back. I didn't do too well in the bottom of the boat. Sitting there, rocking with the swell, and only having a small window to look out on with nothing to see except the ocean floor going back and forth did not agree with my stomach. Thankfully, I made it to the bathroom. Oh well, it made more room for Key Lime Pie!

After the boat returned to the dock, our tour of Key West was over and we headed out with only one more stop: the Key Lime Factory for some Key Lime Pie. Yum! Next destination: the Everglades!
