A good coverage of grammar and writing topics is offered in this book. No diagramming at this level. Nice to have one book for this. The book is colorful and has modern pictures that my son liked, though not entirely my style. We have found nothing offensive in this book, and no particular Christian denomination is pushed. I did not find the TM was needed, but I'm fine with teaching langauages. My son was really not a keen writer before this and I can see this workbook has assisted in taking him slowy through various writing projects and given him confidence.
One thing, although it may not be the program at fault, but the individual user, I find that my son did not retain the information learned. In other words he needed more practice or review on each topic that was taught. I will not use BJU again.
