The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

Every child who admires the beauty and variety of shells will want this book of directions for making shell animals, people, jewelry, ornaments, useful items, and gifts.  The author urges the reader to use his imagination freely, allowing the color and shape of each shell to inspire him.

In a brief introduction, Mrs. Cutler tells where to find shells, how to look for them, and how to distinguish between live and dead shell animals, advising the reader never to take a live shell.  Finally, she explains how shells should be cleaned, stored, and used in a variety of useful and attractive items.  The author also includes a list of shops that sell shells for those who do not live near the shore.

Illustrated by Giulio Maestro, who shows what beautiful items can be made from shells, this book will be welcomed by children, parents, teachers, librarians, and club leaders.
