Nature splashes color all around us. Most living creatures have chemicals called pigments that determine what color they will be. Colors can range from deep black to bright red to electric blue.
But what happens when a person, plant or animal carries the genetic code for no pigment? The lack of pigment is called albinism. Animals and people with albinism usually have pale skin, white hair, and pink, red, or blue eyes. And they face special challenges.
