Used Book Condition Guidelines

We make every effort to offer good quality materials at Exodus. Used books are screened as we purchase them, and this eliminates most books that are written in or missing pages. Due to the nature of consumable curriculum, we do occasionally offer workbooks with minimal writing in them (our goal is 2% consumption or less). We worry less about bent pages and wear when it comes to workbooks, but are more particular with textbooks and novels. We consider minimal highlighting acceptable in textbooks but don't usually accept that in general books. Mildew stains, water damage, and smoke/animal smells are a big turn off. Here are a few more things to keep in mind:

We will not accept books that are unbound or have pages that were torn out and stuffed back in
It goes without saying, but please don't bring in kits or flashcards that are missing parts. Please note that our bookbuyer will count all kits or flashcards as a matter of course, even if you have already counted them.
If flashcards were laminated or hole punched, it must be done cleanly. That means lamination must not be wavy, and holes must be fairly even.
We do not accept censored literature (no white out, pen, or marker on the inside, and no stickers on the front cover.)
We do not accept coloring books with any pages already colored
Same goes for sticker books that are missing stickers
CDs must be very clean, with no large scratches. If you know a CD doesn't work, don't bring it in.
Please don't bring in books that are dirty or have been damaged by water or any other liquid. Please make sure your box of books doesn't contain debris: pine needles, hair, bugs, dirt, etc.
No frayed edges, broken binding, ripped, torn, or stained covers.
Absolutely no missing pages, or pages that are falling out.
Most Sonlight curriculum is acceptable with stickers on the binding.
