From the craggy hillsides of Edinburgh to the sunlit docks of Constantinople, from the dusty alleys of Pamplona to a windswept station in Berlin, Ticket to Ride Europe takes you on a new train adventure through the great cities of turn-of-the-century Europe. Will you risk a trip through the dark tunnels of Switzerland? Venture aboard a ferry on the Black Sea? Or erect lavish train stations in the great capitals of the old empires? Your next move might just make you Europe's greatest train magnate!

Ticket to Ride Europe is the next installment in Days of Wonder's best-selling train adventure series. Players collect cards of various types of train cars, and use them to build stations, pass through tunnels and onto ferries, and lay claim to railway routes throughout Europe. Ticket to Ride Europe is elegantly simple, can be learned in 5 minutes, and appeals to both families and experienced gamers. This box contains a complete new game and does not require the original Spiel des Jahres-winning Ticket to Ride: USA.

Good Variation on A Good Game
Joseph F of Oregon, 2/14/2013
So like Ticket to Ride and you can see my review on the USA version, so I'll just review the differences.
The same basic game mechanism is here, but with a twist or two. When laying routes, some sections are "ferries" or "tunnels" that might need more cards than standard. This introduces an element of the unknown, so you can gamble and try to lay the route when you have only the minimum number of cards to lay that route, but then if you end up needing more cards, you can't lay the route and basically lose your turn.
This version also introduces stations, which let you claim cities that you can't actually reach, which is very helpful on this map which can get very full with the full complement of 5 players.
Ticket to Ride is a great game, and this can either be a good intro into the series, or a step up from the USA version if you've played and loved that version.
