Computers are in almost every classroom and home. Students may be experienced on computers but have little understanding of how to use the Internet to research topics. The Surfing the Net: Science activities are designed to introduce, guide, and expand students' use of the Internet using critical thinking skills to locate and use information to answer standards-based questions.
Surfing the Net: Science is divided into standards-based science topics. Each topic offers a variety of research-based activities that can be used in teacher-led instruction or as student-guided instruction. Students may work individually, in pairs, or groups to complete the Web searches.
