Sentences to Paragraphs is a series of four books written for young learners who study English either as a first language or as a foreign language. It teaches, systematically, the key writing skills on how to write correct sentences, as well as how to develop sentences into coherent paragraphs. A mastery of these skills is essential in laying a strong foundation for composition-writing.
Each book provides clear and concise lessons, supported by graded exercises, including those using pictures, for practice. Answers are given at the end of the book.
Starting with the simple sentence, the books progress in easy and graded steps through the various types of sentence and their parts, the expansion of sentences by means of adjectives and adverbs, the linking of sentences by means of conjunctions, and the combining of sentences into paragraphs, covering many other important topics on the way.
Each unit consists of two or more pages of explanatory material, with each point carefully illustrated with helpful examples, followed by four or five exercises which afford ample practice of the new material.
