Russian

Russian is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken Slavic language, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian is one of three (or four)living members of the East Slavic languages. Today Russian is widely used outside Russia. Over a quarter of the world's scientific literature is published in Russian, and 60–70% of all world information is published in English and Russian languages. To many Westerners, the Cyrillic alphabet used to write Russian makes it seem more foreign than languages which employ the Latin alphabet (English, French, German, etc.).
