These small clothbound readers are excellent safe reading. Throughout the stories, obedience, respect for others, and a godly lifestyle are stressed. As a child reaches the upper grades, the readers also become more advanced, and contain more valuable lessons. There are sections on Christian history, nature and everyday life on the farm. Plus, a generous number of inspirational poems are scattered throughout the books. Because these are Amish in origin, you will find no references to many of our modern distractions, such as movies and television—your student will find them educational and morally uplifting.
