Os Guinness

Born in China to a Christian missionary and a surgeon, Guinness's family tree also includes his great, great, grandfather, Alfred Guinness, the Dublin brewer. After leaving China because of Communist pressure, Guinness journeyed to England with his parents and later graduated from the University of London and Oxford. Today Guinness writes and speaks about Christianity and society.

Guinness believes that society has lost its moral absolutes, and he also criticizes those Evangelical churches who've become megachurches. His book titles reflect his philosophies: The American Hour: A Time of Reckoning, Dining with the Devil: The Megachurch Movement Flirts with Modernity, and Unspeakable: Facing Up to Evil in an Age of Genocide and Terror. Over twenty-five books have been penned or edited by Guinness.

A fundamental core to Guinness's work is to make sense of knowledge and explain it in such a way that the ordinary individual can understand it and then influence public policy. He's also been involved with a BBC television documentary, a public service opinion survey, and a study on the United States called "America in Perspective" by American Express.

Guinness served as the Executive Director of the Wiliamsburg Charter Foundation before founding The Trinity Forum in 1991. He was a Senior Fellow and Vice Chairman of the Board until 2004. Currently Guinness lives with his wife, a former fashion model, in Virginia.
