Eli's Sabbatical | October Newsletter

It's October! Summer has ended and school has begun in earnest. Here at Exodus, that means our busy season is over and it's time to adjust schedules and make changes where needed so that we can weather the slow months. That will have three pretty big implications right away!

First, we have changed our hours. On Tuesday through Friday, we still open at 10am, but we now close an hour earlier—at 5pm. We're still open 10am-3pm on Saturday.

Second, we're taking our annual break from book buying this month. That gives us a chance to evaluate stock levels (i.e., do inventory), generally clean up the store, and make plans for the slow season. During the rest of the winter, we usually focus on a variety of projects to improve the store and website.

Third, Eli is taking a sabbatical. (To learn more about that, click here.) While Eli is gone, Rhiannon (our current book buyer) is taking over as general manager; Lauren is stepping up to manage customer service and consulting. Both were formerly homeschooled and are very knowledgeable. (Lauren has been writing curriculum reviews for the website for some time.) Meanwhile, Maddie (our shipping manager) has taken a part-time job as a Teacher's Aide for a local private school, but is working every afternoon, so shipments will still be regular. Emily (our graphic designer) is also working part-time as she attends college classes. Between the four of us, the store will function just fine. . . we just won't have as much time for all those projects Eli constantly creates!

Thank you for all of your support as we continue to work on growing the store so we can better serve you!
Here's to a great October!
