The I-Can-Draw series is a great way to encourage an already proficient artist. If your children are bored with art, this will probably not inspire them. But for the child who likes to draw, say, seascapes with different animals, its a great project to try it using this method.

The main skill you need before starting this book is to be able to draw various geometric shapes. If you have an interest in drawing but don't feel like your art is "up to par", this can expand your skill set. I especially like how the geometric construction allows for editing and changing of the designs. Its easy to change the position of any of hte creatures, and to adapt the method to a new creature that's not in the book.
