This is the fifth book that Lewis wrote in his acclaimed Chronicles of Narnia series, but chronologically, it is the third title.

During the Golden Age of Narnia, when Peter is High King, a boy named Shasta discovers he is not the son of Arsheesh, the Calormene fisherman, and decides to run far away to the North—to Narnia. When he is mistaken for another runaway, Shasta is led to discover who he really is and even finds his real father.

This book is just as good as the rest of the series. It is a wonderful allegory of the Bible, designed to capture the interest of all audiences: adults and children alike. Many people find this to be their favorite book from The Chronicles of Narnia. A boy, who has been overworked by his "father," decides to find out who he really is, and is subsequently mistaken for a prince who looks very much like him. He finds out that Narnia is in danger and only he can save it. I enjoyed it very much and will definitely read it again. I think it will interest children, and adults, of all ages.
