Fluxx

The rules change every single turn. If you're OCD at all, don't play Fluxx. If, however, you're a Greek philosopher with a penchant for stepping into rivers, this is the game you've been waiting for. Players are dealt 3 cards, and rule-bending immediately commences.

Some card games have rule cards. Every card is a rule card in this one, and players can turn the tide every time they lay one down and read its directions aloud. One card might reverse the order of play; another might tell you to draw three cards; the next might say to discard four. Things get pretty crazy when you play with your one loopy friend who has short-term memory problems, but that just makes Fluxx even more fun.

Because the rules are printed on the cards themselves, and because they're always changing, you can teach anyone to play in seconds flat. We'd be lying if we tried to say this was a particularly strategic game, but we'd be just as dishonest if we said it wasn't tons of fun. It is, and we predict once you feel the power of changing rules at whim coursing through your veins, it'll be a long time before you can give it up.
