Silver Falls State Park
March 29, 2009
This little falls is called "Frenchie Falls."
Because of all the winter rains, water was running everywhere—not just in Silver Creek. I thought the drops running off of this moss were beautiful.
You might think this is a small stream running off the side of the canyon to join Silver Creek. You would be wrong. It's our path...
Because of its two parts, this is called "Double Falls."
We ate lunch under the overhang of the Middle North Falls.
In the summer this waterfall is probably not much more than a trickle.
Not much had blossomed yet so most of the green that we saw was moss: mossy trees, mossy rocks, mossy ground...
All these brown bushes will soon be covered with fresh green leaves!
At the North Falls we ate the second half of our lunch. This chipmunk wanted to share with us. He would scurry up to the edge of the drop off, eyeing us and the tempting crumbs hungrily. Finally, either he decided it was safe or mustered up his courage and dashed for a crumb. Seizing it in his mouth, he ran back to the safety of the trees. But he was soon back for more.
