Joshua understands that when the table is set, it's time to eat. |

On Mother's Day we went to the Evans for a delicious dinner of
salmon, potatoes, and other yummy foods. But Joshua had missed
his nap and even the delicious food couldn't keep him awake.
He took a few bites and then nodded off. |

I was trying outfits on Joshua one day and thought he looked so cute
I had to take a picture. I draped the blanket and told Joshua
where to stand, hoping he wouldn't move before I could get at least
a decent shot. But unexpectedly, he posed! He stood
there, grinning, with his feet just so and his hands at his side. |

Talent night at Family Camp 2007!
Nathan Dahlin sang "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and the Small Choir -
which normally sings hymns - backed him up. The audience was
very surprised! |

After spending Friday night at Family Camp, we joined Eli's brother,
Sam, and a few other couples at Pacific City. Joshua
understood how to play on the beach after all his experience in
Florida. After running his fingers through the sand for a bit,
he caught sight of the ocean. Toddling insecurely over the
soft sand, he headed down the hill and would have walked all the way
to the roaring waves by himself. I followed a few feet behind
to see what he thought he was up to. We rolled up our pants
and let the waves cover our toes. It was cold, but he enjoyed
himself. |

On the fourth of July we took Joshua to the theater for the first
time to see Ratatouille, the latest Pixar movie. We
thoroughly enjoyed it and Joshua sat for most of it. It wasn't
until about two thirds through the movie that he had to get up and
wander around the aisles. Afterwards, we joined half of our
church at Elder Wilson's house for the afternoon, enjoying good
fellowship and food and trying to keep cool. In the evening,
we came back to Oregon City with another couple with young boys to
see the Clackamette Park firework show. Though the fireworks
were brief and the band playing music while we waited was loud, it
was a fun way to end the day. |

We had about a week of sweltering weather and I was glad to come to
my parents' house where we could enjoy air conditioning and play
time in the pools. The sun was so warm that the water was bath
temperature by the time we got out to play in them! |

When you have a toddler and a bag of stale bread in the house,
that's the time to go visit the ducks. |

Joshua was playing with this box and as soon as I put it on his head
I thought of

In preparation for a new baby in the house, we're
working on teaching Joshua to be a big helper boy. |

Joshua loves reading books! Several times a day he'll
excitedly pull a book off his shelf and bring it to me, begging
to be read to. |
