Previously called Discovering Art, this course is designed to increase students` understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. It will also markedly enhance their artistic abilities through the actual creation of art projects.
Thirty-two video lessons on DVD introduce students to hundreds of images of paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures and photographs by artists ranging from young children to masters like Leonardo da Vinci. The thorough and well established program presents and illustrates the elements of art and principles of design, while teaching the terms and concepts which artists, art critics, and art historians use to understand and discuss works of art. Repeating this program every two or three years will maximize its benefit.
