A native of Michigan, Osbeck entered the world on December 13, 1924. He later graduated from the University of Michigan with both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Music Education. Osbeck continued with music, becoming a director of music and then an associate professor of music and fine arts. During these years he also worked at seven local churches as their music director. Also an author, Osbeck writes about Christian patriotism, church music leadership, and hymnology and worship. 101 Hymn Stories and 101 More Hymn Stories are two such books. In conjunction with his writing and after retiring from teaching, Osbeck and his wife, Mary, have given over 600 dramatized hymn story programs for churches. He continues serving and praising the Lord from his Michigan home.
