Leo Dillon

This husband and wife have used their mutual skill in illustration, along with their colorful heritages, to create wonderful artwork for various works of literature. Leo and Diane wed in 1957, after four years of study together at Parsons School of Design, New York City. Their respective African-American and Jewish descent, melded with their artistic training, has led to illustration jobs with writer Harlan Ellison, works of adult and children's literature, and every cover for the original Ace Science Fiction Specials. The Dillons' award-winning art has been honored by the Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist (1971), the Hamilton King Award (1976), and the Caldecott Medal (1976 and 1977).

Works by Leo and Diane Dillon:
