Answers for Kids

Ken Ham believes one of the fundamental reasons so many young people raised as Christians are leaving the Church is the lack of accurate information refuting the theory of evolution. The Answers for Kids trilogy of creation science/Biblical apologetics curricula is intended to fill this gap.

How Does This Work?

The Answers for Kids Bible Curriculum combines three popular illustrated "kits" (BeginningsSeven C's of History, and Questions) into an all-in-one 30-lesson course designed to greatly strengthen the biblical foundations of children's lives. Students grades 1-6 are the intended audience; the age of your kids will largely determine how much of the supplemental material you cover.

Beginnings discusses the origin of the Bible, the existence of God, and the age of the earth. The Seven C's of History is a brief treatment of the history of God's people. Questions covers genetics, the ice age, the possibility of aliens, and other evolution-based questions. All issues are approached as problems requiring answers, which are presupposed to be found in the Bible.

Black-and-white illustrations and lots of text characterize each volume. A variety of colorful wall charts are included with each volume, as well as a CD-Rom containing full-color screen and printable images. These images make the course far more engaging, and add lots of information not included elsewhere.

Every lesson is fully scripted for the teacher, and includes discussion questions, ideas for further study, possible activities, etc. For the further study options you will often need internet access. There isn't really any written work, though you could come up with assignments pretty easily on your own.

Our Honest Opinion:

This is ideal for Sunday school classes or as a supplement to more thorough science study. As an apologetics course it is introductory, and too narrowly focused specifically on evolution to provide a worldview outline. A good science program to use after these texts is the God's Design series; for apologetics/worldview you might consider moving on to one of the texts offered by Brimwood Press.

C. Hollis Crossman used to be a child. Now he's a husband and father who loves church, good food, and weird stuff. He might be a mythical creature, but he's definitely not a centaur. Read more of his reviews here.
