Similar to the ALASKA MILEPOST guide book, ALONG THE TRAIL WITH LEWIS AND CLARK, is a travel guide on steroids. There is a broad overview of the trip covered in the first few pages, to give the reader the basic background and an overall view of the trip. The balance of the book includes the sections of the historical trail that are accessible. Each section has a map of the area, information about getting there and touring the area, historical background and every conceivable accommodation available in the area, as well as what you can do once you are in the area. Restaurants and lodgings are rated with $$ signs to indicate relative cost.
